At left in the distance, two vehicles find their access blocked at the edge of the neighborhood through which Plata Road ultimately runs, and where residents have endured heavy traffic as drivers sped through their streets trying to avoid construction delays. The sudden closure of a private road that served for the past couple of months as a shortcut around construction taking place on Ridge Road has some folks up in arms  while others are breathing a sigh of relief.
