People were seen congratulating each other and some politicians, mostly opposition leaders, used the occasion to advocate the restoration of statehood and early assembly polls.

JAMMU: Having faced several hardships for over 18 months due to the suspension of high-speed internet, people of Jammu and Kashmir especially students, professionals and those belonging to the business community were elated on Saturday following the
restoration of 4G mobile internet services across the union territory.
However, the development once again brought into focus the demand for restoration of statehood to the Union Territory.

JAMMU, Feb 2: Former MLA, KAS officer, retired Colonel of Army, RSS ideologue and committed party cadre including women are among 12 chairpersons and vice chairpersons whose names have been cleared by the BJP for six District Development Councils (DDCs) of Jammu region where the party has gained absolute majority to form the Councils while BJP, National Conference and Congress are in talks with Independents and others to secure majority in rest of the four DDCs, where elections are scheduled to start from February 6 and the process has to conclude before February 20.
NPP stages protest demonstration in Jammu
Jammu, January 28, 2021 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the activists of National Panthers Party (NPP) led by its Chairman, Harshdev Singh held a protest demonstration at Channi Himmat in Jammu against the anti-people policies of the authorities.
The NPP activists held the protest demo outside the Regional Office of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) over the inordinate delay in construction of Udhampur-Chenani-Ramban stretch of the Srinagar-Jammu Highway. Chanting slogans against the authorities, the protesters demanded immediate construction and completion of the road.

JAMMU, Jan 12: Former minister and JKNPP chairman, Harsh Dev Singh today said that despite a highly discriminatory Industrial package having been announced by the Govt of India recently, it is shocking that none of the senior leaders of BJP have responded till date to the public outcries against the alleged prejudicial treatment to Jammu region.
Talking to media-persons here today, Singh said that is has been reported in media that out of 70 Industrial Estates sanctioned for J&K UT, 46 are allocated for Kashmir Division and merely 24 fall in the kitty of the marginalized Jammu region. The proposed distribution being highly biased and objectionable. He said that Panthers Party seeks a fair deal for Jammu region with equal share in the said industrial package so announced by the GoI.
