Judiciary plays an important role in the promotion of justice and preservation of human rights, in a way that contributes to the Kingdom’s goals of comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
This was emphasised by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as he met remotely yesterday the Vice President of the Supreme Judicial Council and President of the Court of Cassation, His Excellency Counselor Abdullah bin Hassan Al Buainain.
HRH Prince Salman also stressed the importance of further strengthening the Kingdom’s legal system through complementary cooperation between the executive, legislative and judicial authorities. His Royal Highness praised the efficiency of the Bahraini judiciary, stressing the importance of continuing to support the development of its divisions by investing in the development of its human capital.

The second and eighth instances of the Lower Criminal Court has been allotted to rule in cases involving violations of the COVID-19 mandatory precautionary measures, including gatherings exceeding the maximum number, according to an edict issued by Court of Cassation President, Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) Vice Chairman, Chancellor Abdulla bin Hassan Al-Buainain.
Under the edict, the court, which sits during the working days, weekend and New Year public holiday, will rule in cases involving violations within 24 hours.
He said that the work undertaken by the Team Bahrain to maintain public health and implement the resolutions of the Executive Committee strengthens the national efforts to combat the global pandemic and mitigate its fallout.
