focused on children. are you surprised to see this transition, now focusing on adults? >> no. as we explored in our other podcast, the anti-trans hate machine, which is an investigative series, we uncovered the fact that this is now a major pillar of the republican party. that's the organization that you know, the charity foundation, the alliance of freedom, and so many others. they have worked for almost a decade to push this issue to the center of the republican party. that is why it is not a surprise that it is being expanded right now. and you know, even in the washington post article about the fact that adults are now a focus of this legislation, it was quoted, the american principles project. they were the ones who, in 2018, this focus group, this particular issue, to say that the way into undermining the

campaign, that is a part of what me and my team called anti-trans hate machine. which is a series of inter -- institutions in which there is a media operation on the right that is designed to spread disinformation about trans people. and that this is the disinformation is reaching out into the wider public. and there is no response from progressives or on the left to this and to hit trans hate machine to this disinformation, to this propaganda. so, in the absence of response or reply. the disinformation will stand. and that is what's happening. and one of the reasons why the disinformation is able to be so effective, is because we live in a transphobic society. we -- transphobia is the default position. so, it is something that most people have or experienced. and again, without appealing to counter veiling sediments that people have, around liberty and
have to fight for the right to simply exist. it's a literal life or death battle. so, it isn't actually about bathrooms or teen sports or health care, where americans can still have good faith debates and disagreements. if the bigots get out of the way. it's about standing in solidarity with a marginalized and under fire community. we want to have a good faith discussion about all of this with trans americans. with the people who are also often overlooked by our media. people like -- a transgender woman in writer who is covered violence against the lgbtq community, including in her newsletter, the present age, she also media critic. journalist -- another transgender woman, who works to shift the culture of hostility against the trans community, as creator of trends slash media, and the anti-trans hate machine. i recently spoke with parker and -- about what's happening in america today. >> thank you both for being
