Jefferies maintained a buy rating on Bharti Airtel and raised the target price to Rs 1300 from Rs 1085 earlier. The brokerage firm retained an underperform rating on Indus Tower but raised the target price to Rs 160 from Rs 150 earlier.
From the Sensex pack, HCL Tech, Wipro, Titan, Nestle, and Sun Pharma opened higher, while NTPC, Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel, Power Grid, and HDFC Bank opened lower.
Analysts expect IT companies to report subdued performance in the December quarter on the back of seasonal furloughs, continued cuts in discretionary spends, and tumbling deal announcements, among others.
