Led by Brady Hensley and Cutter Boley, the 4-1 Eagles have defeated some of the state’s top competition.

Tanner Mordecai ran for two touchdowns, Braelon Allen added two more and Wisconsin beat Georgia Southern 35-14 on Saturday. Mordecai finished 19 of 30 for 236 passing yards. Mordecai, a SMU transfer, also had seven carries for 36 yards and two touchdowns.

The Seminoles won't have a lofty ranking to mock if they keep this up. “We dug our own hole,” running back Rodney Hill said after Florida State closed with three punts and a fumble, then managed to run out the clock only because BC committed its 18th penalty of the game — a face mask after a third-down stop that would have forced a punt. “We got back out there and it was fine,” Hill said.

Eagles fans showered D'Andre Swift with love all night after he rushed for a career-high 175 yards on 28 carries.

Thanks to the costly fumbles that have accounted for six of their seven turnovers, the Vikings have already taken two frustrating losses. “We have to go back and continue to find ways to re-emphasize how important it is when you have the football in your hands playing for the Minnesota Vikings,” coach Kevin O'Connell said after the 34-28 defeat Thursday in Philadelphia.

UCLA athletic director Martin Jarmond's late mother attended North Carolina Central, making Saturday's Bruins football game against the Eagles special to him.
