Kiper: Eagles' Land 'Biggest Steal' of NFL Draft

The Philadelphia Eagles made a big splash when they traded up in the 2021 NFL Draft and selected Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith, but he wasn't the only offensive skill player the team landed. While general manager Howie Roseman and head coach Nick Sirianni consider Smith a difference-maker on and off the field, ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. has fifth-round pick Kenneth Gainwell as his late round steal of this year's draft. Get our free mobile app "In 2019 all Kenny Gainwell did was scored touchdowns," Kiper said. "He can catch the ball out of the backfield, game-breaking runner, outstanding football player.  They get him in round five, he should have been taken in round three.  That's a heck of a pick for the Philadelphia Eagles."

Another 2020 Eagles Coaching Staff Member Retained By Sirianni New Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni is still going through the process of filling all the openings on his Coaching staff for the 2021 NFL season and after retaining Offensive Line Coach Jeff Stoutland, Sirianni will be keeping another familiar face from Doug Pederson's Coaching Staff When the Eagles hired Aaron Moorehead before the 2020 season, he became the fourth different Wide Receiver Coach under Doug Pederson since he became Head Coach in 2016.  Before coming to Philadelphia, Moorehead spent the previous seven years as a Wide Receivers Coach in College Football at Virginia Tech (2013-14), texas A&M (2015-17), and Vanderbilt (2018-19).  Interesting to note that Moorehead worked with new Eagles Pass Game Coordinator Kevin Patullo at Texas A&M in 2017.
