On the street where you are told you cant do that because there are too many medical institutions. Many of our hospitals do not just deal with San Francisco residents. Many people come from outside the city for services at ucsf and kaiser and even as a dentist i have 30 percent of my patients who reside outside of San Francisco. The needs of a particular medical facility are dictated by their patient base, not necessarily everybody who happens to be living in San Francisco. So i have some concerns about what would happen in land use terms because i dont want to put another barrier for development for Health Care Facilities might be beneficial to the city or to many people who are needing health care services. I want to know how much teeth is in it. Thank you for your comments commissioner a

But, my concern is this where would this go . An example was brought up to changing a medical facility to pool hall. Im concerned about a medical facility who wanted to locate on the siting by the corridor on the street where you are told you cant do that because there are too many medical institutions. We feel strongly and a lot of people here today that this master plan is a map, is a road map for us to move forward in this city and i also say that it can also be a model for the region and for the country as well. So congratulations. We hope that you will give this plan your blessing so we can get up to the next level. Thank you for your time. Commissioners, im lucy johns. I set on the task force that helped produce this document and in addition to thanking the wonderful people who made this possible, i just want to let you know that for about 1015 years in the far past, San Francisco did engage in health planning. And then in the early 80s. It completely died. Then supervisor campos and hilary thought we cant be making decisions institution by institution. We need something that looks at the city as
