President , speaker, members of the 64th legislature, auditor included, treasurer gordon, superintendent, chief justice burke, members of the judiciary, members of the military, veterans, fellow citizens, my family, good morning. Today i give my eighth and final state of the state address, and in preparing it, i have had a lot of thoughts, including the speaker and president have been kidding me in recent days that its too bad, it takes about eight years to train a governor and just when you get them trained, they leave. It was a couple years ago when the president of the senate, when he was announcing me, rather than saying his excellency, he said the executioner. So it takes awhile to train a speaker and president , too. What a privilege its been to appear before a joint session each year and talk about wyoming, the state we love. I give my eighth and final state of the state address today. The speaker and president have been kidding me in recent days that it takes about eight years. O train a governor agoas a couple of years when the president of the senate was announcing his excellency, it takes a while to train a speaker and a president. The privilege has been to appear before a joint session each year to talk about wyoming, the state we love. Believe these work to work this passive and years has built a better legacy. Its not safe. Violent crime is up. John and the media make it seem like life is getting worse, but away from politics, most of life gets better. We live longer, we live better. The good news is most of life exists outside government. The big picture. Thats our show tonight. Announcer and now, john stossel. John so much has gone the better in america. Our environment keeps getting cleaner, despite what you hear. We live longer than ever, become more prosperous, poor people have. More good things keep happening under President Trump . He promises hell help kids escape horrible Government Schools. We will rescue kids from failing schools by helping their parents send them to a safe school of their choice. John choice could be great. I like the way he said choice but its not really under his control. Education is mostly run by local governments, and many places, in spite of resistance from teachers unions and stuck in their ways bureaucrats, better alternatives have emerged. Charter school
