at the steering wheel. mr. angle grabbed his arm. said sir, you need to take your hand off of the steering wheel. we re going back to the west wing. we re not going to the capitol. mr. trump then used his free hand to lunge towards bobby angle. neither men told me ever that it was untrue. neil: we knew we were in for something explosive today. cassidy hutchison, a top aide to mark meadows at the time testifying that the president, donald trump, was warning members of the crowd attending his rally january 6th were hely armed and yet still directed them to march on the capitol of the united states. she said he insisted on going to the capitol with them even as officials ultimately successful tried to stop him. it was that close, it was that scary, it was that dangerous. now is it all true? welcome, everybody. i m neil cavuto. this is your world. growing questions about the tick tok on what is now seems like some over-the-top accusations about the former president and what h
saying that that day. i think what the next hearing is going to be is the tick tok of what happens that day and the hours afterwards. something that cassidy hutchison testified to that probably more of that. there s a lot of questions about security that haven t come up yet. they promised that it will come up in this hearing and what was the president agreed to or not or nancy pelosi. but today was a big day as far as this hearing and it did deliver for the surprise witness that they promised. neil: so finally on that point about the need for security and all of that, if we re to take her at face value, that there were concerns about whether this could get very, you know, raucous and violent ahead of the approaching january 6th election certification with the electoral votes, and obviously republicans will want to hear if these warnings were relayed to
nancy pelosi and others, that we just don t know. we don t know. we don t know if this committee will go down that road. that s why it would have been to have jim jordan or somebody cross examining and asking the questions. that s not how this committee is operating. we put that out there. that s a caveat in how this is a scripted play of this testimony. it doesn t discount or somehow diminish the significance of this testimony today. neil: thanks, bret. bret baier, special report. he ll have more in two hours. i want to go to alex, a criminal defense attorney. you came away from this and hearing cassidy hutchison s testimony. how much of this has criminal implications for theformer president if true?
this is your world. growing questions about the tick tok on what is now seems like some over-the-top accusations about the former president and what he was doing and saying even in ruckus with his secret service on that fateful day. let s get the latest from aishah hasnie. hi, neil. the former president was apparently watching and reacting almost in real time. we ll get to that in a second. first, to this dramatic testimony from cassidy hutchison. she first told the committee that she felt scared and nervous about what could happen on january 6 when her former boss, mark meadows told her that things could get bad. they could go down hill. some key moment to take away from the hearing. she said the president was upset. you heard it here. the elipse where he was supposed to speak january 6, it wasn t completely full of his
january 6 where she s apart of conversations. rudy guliani says it s going to be a big day. mark meadows said it could get real bad. she remembers hearing about the proud boys and oath keepers and there were concerns about weapons and what she hears a day. it does build a case, but most hid line grabbing is the description of the president s actions. i think that we hadn t heard that before. we ve obviously heard bill barr say what he said about his anger, the former president s anger. we showed note on truth social, president trump has said this is not true. none of it is true. cassidy hutchison is under oath on capitol hill and you have to take that into consideration. she s hearing this secondhand, is she not? yes, she is.
