Heating and Ventilation News
A range of industry bodies representing electric, gas and oil heating technology suppliers have all expressed encouragement about proposals to introduce a major shift in UK heat policy
Environmental building specialists have praised the UK’s Sixth Carbon Budget and its proposals to ensure a significant majority of the UK’s heat decarbonisation aims are met within 15 years.
The UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) said that the Carbon Budget recommendations presented by the Committee on Climate Change (CCC) could be considered the world’s first detailed route map on how to decarbonise an entire nation.
Headline recommendations within the document include outlawing the installation of fossil fuel boilers completely from 2033, while also ensuring that the majority of heating demand can be met via heat pumps or lower carbon heat networks by the middle of the next decade.
