The Louisiana Legislature easily gave final passage to a slew of bills with harsher consequences for criminals, sending them to the governor's desk. 

The bills, which are backed by Gov. Jeff Landry, will treat all 17-year-olds charged with crimes as adults and allow people to carry concealed firearms without permits.

The Louisiana Legislature easily gave final passage to a slew of bills with harsher consequences for criminals, sending them to Republican Gov. Jeff Landry’s desk for his signature.

Gov. Landry has indicated his support for the bill as well as all other bills passed during the crime special session.

The legislation would all but eliminate parole in Louisiana, expand execution methods and treat 17-year-olds charged with crimes as adults.
