The students of the West Salem Grade School as well as the Albion Grade School have been raising funds to help the students of the New Hebron Christian School in Crawford County. New Hebron is about 3 and a half miles south of Robinson in Crawford County. The area saw devastation from an EF-3 Tornado that moved through on the evening of March 31st in Crawford County as well as Sullivan County, Indiana. According to officials with West Salem Grade School, they say at least $1,278.51 in coins were made, filling a 5 gallon bucket. A $500 donation from Steve and Evan Thomson of Country financial plus several other donations made the final total of the donation $3,196.48. School officials say they are proud of their students and staff who contributed to the fundraiser as the lesson learned for students was to help out their neighbors in need. A check will be delivered to the New Hebron Christian School, where the funds will go to help those who were affected by the tornado.
