HEDGESVILLE â With students being in and out of school, some learning completely from home, and COVID-19 forcing businesses to open and close doors to the public, the Sora app is connecting the local library system with Berkeley County students in a safe manner, opening the world of books digitally to the younger readers.
The student access point to the Libby app, Sora allows students to access age-appropriate library books through their Schoology account, a fairly new program addition to the district.
âThe Sora app is something that the school system has to put on the devices,â said Dana Phelps, Hedgesville Public Library manager. âWe, at the library, have no control over the Sora app. Only the school system can put it on a device. Itâs very safe. Their technology people have complete control over it. The only thing we bring to the table is the books that the Martinsburg-Berkeley County Public Library has purchased for all the patrons in the Eastern Panhan
