My original purpose with this letter was to write a fitting tribute to three extraordinary women our town of Espanola lost recently Helen Noonan, Laura Lounder and Janet Murphy. If you knew them, you’ll realize adjectives like wonderful, memorable, admirable are not strong enough, so feel free to choose your own. They shared many attributes. They worked for many years, raised fine families who miss them terribly as do their many friends; were women of great faith; bled red for the Liberals; volunteered whenever they could make a contribution. I wanted to share more about them, but our town is in crises. We need more volunteers!
