When Carson City throws a Thanksgiving dinner, the Carson Nugget has always delivered. With 60 years now under its belt, the downtown capital city casino again outdid itself with community service, treating nearly 1,000 residents to a free Thanksgiving meal.
Gil Yanuck has assumed the role of Carson City Chairman of the Board effective Oct. 8 following the resignation of Chairman Lisa Stirgus who resigned because of a Wells Fargo transfer to Seattle. Mr. Yanuck represents AARP and has been a member of the board since 2010. He will serve as chair until June 30, 2014.
