DEAR READERS: As many of you know, everyone here at Heloise Central loves animals, and all of us have had rescued animals that we took into our homes now or at sometime in the past.

DEAR HELOISE: Weve landed a man on the moon and made advances in medicine, so why are we still using gasoline-guzzling cars? We have the ability to use electric cars, and we could -- and should -- help advance this method of transportation.

DEAR HELOISE: A couple of months ago, I was the victim of an unemployment scam. I didn't know such a thing even existed until then. Since then, I've read about others who were victims as well.

DEAR HELOISE: I must be on someone's list, because I get address labels, notepads and other things from various charities that I've never heard of before. I give to a few charities that have special meaning to me and ones that work to help people and animals. How do I stop these people from bombarding me with all the junk they send me and have them stop asking for donations?

The tough bags can help in the kitchen after they are empty.
