Military Veterans Tee it Up at PGA HOPE Secretary’s Cup to Kickoff 2021 PGA Championship Week

While competition is a big part of the PGA HOPE Secretary’s Cup, this annual start to PGA Championship Week is much bigger than bragging rights and trophies. Still, local knowledge paid dividends at the 2021 event, a 9-hole golf competition for military Veterans who have participated in the PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) program.
On spectacular Kiawah Island, camaraderie, countless fist bumps and big smiles lit up Osprey Point Golf Course, as 24 Veterans, alongside their PGA Member coaches, embraced the opportunity to play during a special day for golf.

May is Military Appreciation Month and the Union County Board of Commissioners is committed to connecting our veterans and military families with helpful services.
Over the past year, we have expanded our outreach with several new programs.
We now have designated parking spaces at of our County facilities, for all Union County Veterans who display a Union County Veterans parking placard in their vehicle. To view a list of the locations and submit an application for a free placard, please visit ucnj.org/uc-hero.
In support of our LGBTQ veterans and active military residents, we have also partnered with our Office of LGBTQ Affairs, to address specific concerns and issues. We offer services for VA disability issues, military discharge upgrades, medical benefits, education resources, housing assistance, and employment/training resources.
PGA REACH Announces the Paul Millsap PGA WORKS Fellowship

On the heels of naming four-time NBA All-Star and Denver Nuggets Power Forward Paul Millsap as the first-ever PGA WORKS Ambassador, PGA REACH, the 501(c)3 charitable foundation of the PGA of America, has announced the Paul Millsap PGA WORKS Fellowship.
The 12-month paid Fellowship, which will be based at the Georgia PGA Section office in Atlanta, will deliver an experience that provides valuable insight for pursuing a career in the golf industry.
Focused on engaging a broad demographic of participants with consideration to gender, ethnicity, race, national origin, sexual orientation, religion, disability and Veteran status the Paul Millsap PGA WORKS Fellowship is designed to prepare an individual from a diverse background to pursue a career within the golf industry.
