Several others are missing. Theres also a tropical system threatening beach communities from georgia to the carolinas this weekend. But we begin with don champion in bastrop county, texas. Reporter for the last 24 hours, rescue choppers have been plucking desperate people off rooftopes of homes and submerged cars in several texas towns. Near austin, there have been at least 75 people rescue. In brenham, rain poured down in buckets, more than 18 inches in a days time. It was 62 years ago this week thathe Supreme Court outlawed segregation in public schools. But it never went away. A study ordered by Congress Found the percentage of highpoverty schools with mostly black or hispanic students has more than doubled since 2000. Michelle miller went to a district in the deep south thats been ordered to desegregate. Reporter the mississippi delta town of cleveland has been grappling with its segregated past for 50 years, and now its time has run out. In a ruling, a federal judge ordered the district to merge two high schools and two middle schools, saying the delay in desegregation has deprived generations of students of the constitutionally guaranteed education. Jamie jacks, the School Districts attorney, says the order doesnt give the full picture. We have kids learning side by side each other of different races. At the crash scene in the french alps, crews continued the difficult task of recovering remains of the 150 who died. We have a series of reports tonight. First well go to allen pizzey in the copilots hometown. Reporter investigators searching the apartment and family home of Andreas Lubitz turned up several doctors notes, including one excusing him from work on the day of the crash, but that one had been torn up. German prosecutor Christoph Gumpa said the note supports the Current Program assessment that he hid his illness from his colleaguees. Producers would not say what that medical condition was other than that it had been treated by a doctor. They also did not find a suicide note or anything indicating a religious or political motive.
