A proposed plan to govern groundwater use in the Cosumnes Subbasin for the next two decades will be aired during a public workshop on March 24 that will be conducted online and at two in-person locations. The meeting is an opportunity for South Sacramento County residents to understand and comment on proposals that include reducing irrigation of agricultural land and increasing replenishment of the underground aquifer.
The workshop will be conducted virtually from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24 and simultaneously will be shown on screens at the Herald Fire Station and the Rancho Murieta Country Club Ballroom. Face masks, social distancing and other Covid-19 protection practices will be enforced for the two in-person meetings. More than half of the workshop time is set-aside for participants to ask questions, provide feedback and suggest alternatives to the projects and actions under consideration.
