An eight-foot-tall statue of Mahatma Gandhi has been unveiled at Tolstoy Farm in South Africa. The statue, which joins existing busts of Gandhi and Nelson Mandela, is a tribute to Gandhi s time at the commune he established during his tenure as a lawyer in South Africa. The farm was donated by Gandhi s friend, Herman Kallenbach, to help the community resist discriminatory laws. Tolstoy Farm had fallen into disrepair but has been restored by the Mahatma Gandhi Remembrance Organisation.
