Ike and Dawn Thrash's Turnerloose moved to the top of the Kentucky Oaks leaderboard on Saturday with a 17-1 upset of the Grade 2 Rachel Alexandra Stakes at Fair Grounds in New Orleans, La. Ridden by Florent Geroux for trainer Brad Cox, the 3-year-old filly by Nyquist earned 50 qualifying points for the G1 Kentucky Oaks, assuring her a spot in the Lillies for the Fillies race on May 6 at Churchill Downs.

Saturday's Grade 2 Risen Star Stakes at Fair Grounds in New Orleans, La., marks the first 85-point qualifying race for this year's G1 Kentucky Derby, with 50 points to the winner, 20 for second, 10 for third and five for fourth. The same points formula is in place for the G2 Rachel Alexandra Stakes, a qualifying race at Fair Grounds on the road to the Kentucky Oaks. Those two races, along with two other graded stakes, highlight a big 13-race card at Fair Grounds.

Saturday’s 50th running of the 1 1/8-mile Risen Star offers 50, 20, 10 and 5 qualifying points for the Kentucky Derby, and it should produce some runners for the 1 3/16-mile Louisiana Derby on March 26
