A shell shocked america. A special edition of early today starts right now. Good monday morning. Im Frances Rivera and im phillip mena in el paso, texas. The country is reeling this morning after two mass shoot ings in el paso and ohio claim the lives of 29 people in just 13 hours two cities, 1600 miles apart, both grieving. Here in el paso, a 21yearold gunman opened fire inside a crowded walmart inside cielo vista mall people went scrambling for cover. 20 people were killed and 26 people were injured. We have coverage with phillip in his hometown of el paso phillip, especially when it happens to be where you grew up and where you call home. Its surreal, frances, its something that i could have never imagined would happen here i got the news on saturday and then it hit me like a ton of bricks, especially when i found out i had family members that were i cousin were inside that cielo vista mall when they got word that shots were ringing out and chaos ensued and they were able to run out
