HILLSBOROUGH, NJ A Princeton driver was able to escape after crashing his minivan into a retention basin in Hillsborough on Friday night.
Just before 9 p.m., Richard Davitt of Princeton crashed his minivan into the retention basin in the Lowe s Home Improvement parking lot.
Davitt did not need to be rescued as he was able to get out of the van after it came to rest in the basin. Davin then walked to a local business and reported the crash, said Hillsborough Police Lt. Mark Szymanski.
