Company town no longer, Pullman has a future bound up in its past. Here's where development in the Far South Side neighborhood stands since the opening of the Pullman National Monument last Labor Day.

Plans for Labor Day at the Pullman National Monument include events from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 5. It will feature site tours led by rangers, neighborhood walks guided by the Historic Pullman Foundation and an actor portraying Mother Jones to discuss women and the labor movement.

Historic rail cars will stop by the Pullman National Moment for the upcoming Pullman Railroad Days.

The visitor center is inside the former administration building of the Pullman Palace Car Co. And for Labor Day weekend, Pullman-built railcars also will be on display.
