The Supreme Court of Mexico has decriminalised abortion across the country, two years after it ruled in favour of a challenge to an existing law in Coahuila state saying that criminal penalties for terminating pregnancies were unconstitutional, the media reported on Thursday.

Today, Congressman Danny K. Davis stands alongside the Illinois Supreme Court in celebrating their groundbreaking decision to declare the elimination of cash bail constitutional. This landmark ruling establishes Illinois as the first state in the nation to abolish cash bail, reaffirming its commitment to a fair and just criminal justice system that respects the rights and dignity of all its citizens.

The Supreme Court made Roe v Wade law in 1973. Nearly 50 years later, the high court overturned that landmark decision.

The accused sought refuge in Germany after deserting the Syrian regime in 2012.
