That earthquake hit just before midnight off the Southern Coast of mexico. Hundreds of buildings were damaged and collapsed. We have been monitoring out of mexico, guatemala, and el salvador. Now that quake centered in the Pacific Ocean south of the state of chiapas. Hundreds of buildings have been collapsed or damaged. More than 600 miles away buildings were knocked out. What we have learned is that this person was trying to cross the lanes of westbound 580 just west of interstate 80 and that person was struck by several cars and ultimately was killed here at the scene. You can see all of the lanes of traffic are stopped no traffic is getting through. And ultimately trying to get over to the bridge here on westbound 580 chp is still investigating the corner can just a short time ago and removed the bodies of this person who was killed. This happened about 4 30 am and initially people called 911 to report what they had thought was a deer in the road. Officers arrived and they found the victim dead here at the scene. Chp says it appears that this person was a transient who is trying to cross the lane when they were hit by several cars. None of the drivers remained at the scene. They say that it is not entirely uncommon to have people walking along freeways in the bay area. Unfortunately not we have the we see several calls a day of pedestrians walking on
Corridors that are probably just as dangerous but maybe the stats dont necessarily highlight those things, ocean avenue, general nao ef va, alameni and mission, and i know for a fact ocean avenue is pretty dangerous with youre trying to cross there, so im just curious, even though maybe there werent any projects listed in the high priority, if we have projects at all that maybe dont make the 24 or whatever but were actually working on them, we should probably have sort of an appendix for that so people understand that these are not the only 24 projects that we have if possible.
