.- The Important Battle of Britain fighter aces group of eleven awarded to Group Captain Peter Townsend (1914-1995) of the Royal Air Force, who was also known for his romance with the Queens sister, Princess Margaret sold for a hammer price of £260,000 today (Wednesday, July 21, 2021) at Dix Noonan Webb in their auction of Orders, Decorations, Medals and Militaria. After much interest, they sold on the telephone to a Private Collector.
