Duck hunter finds body of missing Huntsville man

The body of a Huntsville man who has been missing since Dec. 6 was found yesterday in Jackson County.
Authorities do not suspect foul play in the death of Rickey Dowell, 65, Chief Deputy Rocky Harnen with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said.
Dowell went missing in Hog Jaw Valley, an area near Stevenson between County Road 91 and the Tennessee River. His car was found near there.
Harnen said hunters in early December heard Dowell shouting for help and believed he was in a marshy area in the valley. However, search parties were unable to locate him.

Missing Huntsville man s body recovered in Jackson County
The body was located near this area in Jackson County.
The body of Rickey Dowell, 65, of Huntsville was found by a hunter Tuesday afternoon.

Chief Deputy Rocky Harnen with the Jackson County Sheriff s Office said the body of Rickey Dowell, 65, of Huntsville was found by a hunter Tuesday afternoon.
Dowell has been missing for almost a month. Crews searched for him extensively using drones, boats and helicopters.
Harnen said Dowell s body was found about a quarter mile from where they were searching in the Hog Jaw Valley area near Stevenson, between County Road 91 and the river.
