Community leader and Board of Education President Ann Marie Panzarelli succumbed after battling COVID-19 since mid-february. Panzarelli was 50 years old. According to an earlier report in the Asbury Park Press, Panzarelli checked into Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank Feb. 15. According to her son, Vincent Panzarelli, she experienced a fever, cough, body aches and the loss of taste and smell last month. Within a day, she was put on a ventilator. Keyport Mayor Collette Kennedy published a statement about Panzarelli’s passing on social media Sunday afternoon.
