Agencies, partners work to house vets | The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

Government agencies and nonprofits around the country have long been working to reduce the number of homeless veterans -- and they have had notable success. According to a government count, the number of homeless veterans has gone down 55% over the past 13 years. But there are still more than 33,000 homeless veterans in the U.S., according to the 2022 Point-in-Time count conducted by the VA and Department of Housing and Urban Development, as well as the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness.
