Mark Bywater leads the way. ON Sunday, June 20, the old Benson’s Yard in Knighton was filled by the sound of tractors. This signified the inaugural Old Timers Tractor Run and at the stroke of 10am the convoy followed Mark Bywater on his very original Radnorshire registered Fordson Major on the 30-mile route. Starting with a tour of Knighton town centre, a number of residents came out of their homes to watch. The fleet of tractors then crossed into Shropshire to take the road down to Stowe, Nelson to Bucknell. Here they took to the hills by climbing the Mynd to Bedstone and on to Hopton Castle. Over to Obley, Fiddler’s Elbow, Pen y Cwm and Pen y Wern before descending through Hobarris to Pentre and New Invention.
