Even as Austin’s job market continues to recover from the coronavirus pandemic, the ripple effects are still being felt as new workforce reductions occur.
The Hilton Austin hotel is laying off 64 workers, while business services firm CSG Systems is laying off 57, according to WARN letters sent to the Texas Workforce Commission.
A WARN letter, which stands for Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, is a federally mandated notice employers must provide to state governments in the event of major layoffs.
