80 of the students would be considered black and universities. There are even a couple of historical black colleges and universities because of the history who actually have student populations that are more predominantly caucasian. They represented an opportunity for blacks at that time to get an education, and overtime has evolved into worldclass institution such as ours. Host as far as the role they serve today, how would you describe that particularly as colleges as a competitive thing and a lot of colleges to compete with . Guest absolutely. We remain competitive. For several reasons. We represent about the percent of africanamerican students in Higher Education. The account for 21 or 22 of all africanamerican graduates from Higher Education in the country today. When you look at that impact as a population, we certainly have a very strong impact in the core group of institutions. I do not think the issue is about relevance, i think the issue is about how excellent we can become.
Them back into slavery. Clinton was not an abolition of slavery was thriving in the British Empire at the time in the west indies. He wasnt trying to abolish slavery but he said weve promised freedom and taking keeps his promises. So somewhere of a 3000 slaves left with the british concluded a couple of George Washingtons own slaves. He said of clinton, either way i would like you to keep an eye out for a couple of my slaves. They left with the british. They scattered all over the place. Some ended up in candidate, some in britain, some independent sierra leone. Some were sold back into slavery by the british and ended up in the west indies so they had the own very interesting stories. But the fact that 3000 or so africanamericans gained their liberty through the british not to the americans is another just sign at the contradiction in American History right from the birth of our republic. Host absolutely. The book is titled gateway to freedom the Hidden History of the underground rail

Buildings evacuated stayed that way for hours. Back at the warner theater, when oprah lost lights and couldnt read her script she began reciting Maya Angelous poetry by memory and brought the house down. I was impressed how she took the stage and continued. She didnt let the power stop her at all. It definitely made her speech more impactful and powerful. Sam the power stayed off through the end of the show. First lady left with her security detail. It hit some areas and not others. Down one side of this street you have the National Portrait gallery. They had no power. Right across the street Martin Luther king library had power. Right now, pepco is saying its over. Everything is back to normal.
