Alien Smuggling Attempts Foiled by Rio Grande Valley Agents

EDINBURG, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) disrupted alien smuggling cases.
On Tuesday afternoon, RGV agents received information of a suspected stash house located in Harlingen, Texas. Agents, with the assistance of the Cameron County Precinct 5 Constable, removed
22 subjects kept inside the house.
The smuggled subjects were from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras.
Yesterday morning, RGV agents working along U.S. Highway 281 near San Manuel, Texas, attempted to conduct a vehicle stop on a Ford F-150. The vehicle failed to yield and sped away, ultimately veering off the road crashing into a ranch fence. The F-150 continued to cause property damage as it advanced through the ranch. HAVANA, Texas – On Thursday, U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended a group of 105 illegal aliens in Havana, Texas.
Early this morning, agents assigned to the McAllen Border Patrol Station encountered 43 illegal aliens who were smuggled into the United States near Havana, Texas.
While agents were attending to the first group, smugglers sent an additional group across the Rio Grande.
In total, 105 illegal aliens, consisting primarily of families and unaccompanied children were apprehended.

EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) Border Patrol agents encounter another large group of illegal aliens.
Yesterday, McAllen Border Patrol Station agents working near Mission, Texas, with the assistance of air units from CBP’s Air and Marine Operations encountered a group of more than 100 illegal aliens comprised mainly of family units (FMUA) and unaccompanied alien children (UAC).
Agents determined the subjects are citizens of El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Cuba, and Nicaragua.
RGV agents continues to experience an influx of illegal aliens crossing daily into the United States. RGV agents have apprehended nearly 13,500 FMUAs and UACs in a four-month period since the start of the fiscal year in October.
Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) Gang Member Arrested near Refugio, Texas

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Corpus Christi Border Patrol Station (CCT) agents arrested a Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13 gang) member from of El Salvador.
Yesterday morning, CCT agents responded to a request for assistance from a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper on a traffic stop north of Refugio, Texas. CCT agents arrived on scene and determined the subject was a citizen of El Salvador who was illegally present in the United States. The subject was arrested and transported to the Border Patrol station for processing. During processing, record checks identified the Salvadoran national as a MS-13 gang member. In addition to being a gang member, the subject has criminal convictions for Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Trespassing, and was previously ordered removed from the country in 2005.
