A hearing has been set to discuss a plea deal in the case of West Tennessee man Curtis Watson, the man charged with killing a Tennessee Department of Correction administrator and escaping prison in August 2019, according to Lauderdale County District Attorney Mark Davidson.
Watson has been indicted on 15 counts stemming from that incident, including premeditated murder, rape and escape.
It is anticipated that Watson will plead guilty to one or more charges, though Davidson could not comment on this and declined to discuss any details due to legal reasons and the ever-changing manner of such deals.
“I’ve had plea cases like this that just don’t go,” Davidson said. “So I can’t confirm what will happen, but I can confirm that (a hearing) is in place.”
