it s what keeps people going. tonight, 70 miles south of here, the story of a 10-day-old baby rescued after nearly 90 hours under the rubble, taken into an ambulance wrapped in a thermal blanket. his mother was saved too, carried away on this stretcher. and the story of this man rescued after 108 hours under the rubble. the teams carefully carrying him down on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance. and then the moment the rescuers overcome, hugging one another, il at thef that ved. bint toy, i n rescuers use thr flashlig peer into the cracks, the spaces between the blocks of concrete. you can see they re clearing away another floor here. hours have gone by and still no sign of life. but the search and rescue team
i think that s all we re going to hear from now. the hospital is expecting to update us on his condition but, again, i don t think they re in a position where they feel compelled to do that until they have an update that is worthy. with him being sedated and critical care, they ll wait to decide if they will update us. this went on for a period of minutes. the team forming a wall around him. it was emotional for the players and for everyone in those stands. yeah. i hope that the nfl really makes an effort, and i think they probably will, for both the bills and the bengals to make sure that they have the support that they need to deal with the trauma of this. the emotion that we saw was so unprecedented, the way the players were crying, holding each other, hugging one another. it became clear right away that this game simply could not continue with how affected everybody was by this. all right. carolyn manno, thank you so much. joining us is jason page. jason, good morning.
removal of the confederate monuments from public spaces. there has been discussion in charlottesville ant removing that statue. of course, that rally was broken up after some clashes happened at the intersection near that park. all of the protesters went their own way for a few hours then about two hours after that, came word that a car plowed into a crowd of counterprotesters here this this area. those counterprotesters were against the rally. the unite the right rally. when we came out here, we saw people who were in shock, people who were crying, people who were hugging one another. they could not believe what had transpired out here and all three kaurs involved, the one that did do the ram ramming into the crowd and hit two other vehicles, you can see those two behind me. we have police out here just starting this investigation. they ve been going through the this area with a fine comb.
moment and these are blackhawk helicopters flown by the national guard called into duty by the governor. they did their duty to try to help the families heal faster. they went to pick up these bodies that were all in portland so they could have their autopsies done there so they could make this a quicker proce procepro proce process. and then all flown back into two separate blackhawk helicopters in the national guard, landed here in roseburg. and then standing outside the fence, there are people standing there. some were praying, hugging one another, watching as they came in. most of those people were from fun ram homes, waiting for those bodies to be loaded up and brought to the homes so that the families can begin a very difficult process. that was really a moment of sheer heartbreak as you watched this happen. you knew when those helicopters touched down, it gave you a sense of the days when we saw war. you know, when helicopters touched down to bring soldiers from abroad, that s
