RANCHI/NEW DELHI: The NIA on Saturday filed a charge-sheet against four persons who ran a human trafficking racket in the guise of placement agencies in Jharkhand and New Delhi, an official said.
Sunita Devi, who is absconding, has been named in the charge-sheet along with Panna Lal Mahto, Gopal Oraon and Shiv Shankar Ganjhu under sections of the IPC, the Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act, the NIA official said.

On Friday, the District Additional sessions court in Kottayam, Kerala sentenced prime accused in the Vithura sex racket case Suresh to 24 years of rigorous imprisonment. As the sentences are to be served together, Suresh will technically spend 10 years in jail. In addition, he was asked to pay a penalty of Rs 1,09,000.
Suresh was found guilty under sections 344 (Wrongful confinement for ten or more days) and 372 (Selling minor for purposes of prostitution) of the Indian Penal Code and other sections of Immoral Traffic Prevention Act (ITPA), in one of the 24 cases registered against him in connection with the rape and sale of the victim for sex work.

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Police busted a major international Human Trafficking racket. The four accused were allegedly trafficking people to Gulf Countries and gave them fake permits to illegally work in those countries.
Workers from India, both men and women were sent off to foreign countries. They are misled with promises of high pay. These people had to work for long hours but didn t get paid enough.
The special operations Team of the LB Nagar Police carried the raid on Tuesday evening. They busted Al-Hayath Tours and Travels at Malakpet and took four accused into custody. The police were able to get a tip of this ongoing racket, when the accused were planning to send a woman to Oman on a fake work permit.
The entire human trafficking saga came to the fore after a Chhattisgarh police team arrived in Chhatarpur (MP) on February 4 in search of the abducted girl.
