Southern Arizona migrant-aid groups and humanitarian volunteers on the border are facing an escalation in confrontations with armed vigilantes and right-wing propagandists.

While issues at the Southern border have dominated headlines in recent weeks, officials at the Pima County Medical Center continue to track migrant deaths and work to identify remains found near the border. Doing so is an extensive process that requires great care and attention to detail.
