Humanities Bill News Today

"If our overall goal is to eradicate homelessness, we can do it and only do it when we decide to work together," said Councilwoman Treska WIlson-Smith.

Part two will take place tomorrow, Aug. 10 from 2-5pm at the library.

The city brought community leaders together to discuss resources available for the homeless. Part two of the series will discuss potential solutions.

"The Humanities Bill" also has a part which would proactively target evictions in the city with specific case managers in the court system.

The citys plan to address homelessness calls for a social worker to track evictions court dates and assist families. It also advocates the use of a large property for housing.

Treska Wilson-Smith says that shes stepping down because her ideas havent been supported by the rest of council.
