Hutchinson s Polar Plunge set to benefit Special Olympics Kansas
The Hutchinson News
More than 450 individuals across the state have already pledged to plunge into icy waters at this year’s Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Kansas. The Polar Plunge is an annual event organized by local law enforcement agencies who participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run.
The #FrozenInTime, decade-themed event will take place on March 6 at the Hutchinson Mall, 1500 E. 11th Ave. in Hutchinson. Registration is at 10 a.m. and plunging begins at noon.
Polar Plunge participants have been asked to pay or fundraise a minimum of $75 for the Polar Plunge, benefitting over 4,800 Special Olympics athletes across Kansas. If a participant in the Polar Plunge raises over $100, they are entered into a raffle to win their share of $13,500. The more money a person raises, the more entries into the raffle.
