The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced nearly $42 million in funding for 22 projects in 14 states to advance critical technologies for producing, storing, and deploying clean hydrogen. DOE also announced $17.8 million to establish a new North American university research consortium that will help states and tribal communities implement grid resilience programs and achieve decarbonization goals.

Through the US Department of Energy, the Biden-Harris Administration has announced the availability of $750 million for research, development, and demonstration efforts to reduce the cost of clean hydrogen.

Nearly 50 years ago in 1976, congress authorized the Hydrogen Program. Then in 1983, Bush and Congress threw more money at hydrogen as an alternative energy source.

The Biden-Harris Administration, through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), has announced its intent to issue $750 million in funding from President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to dramatically reduce the cost of clean-hydrogen technologies.
