While reigning Extreme E champion Sébastien Loeb gets ready for his first XE start of the year, he does not have plans to head back to the World Rally Championship at the moment.

Reigning British Rallycross Champion Patrick O'Donovan has been appointed Extreme E's male reserve and test driver for the Island X Prix, working alongside Tamara Molinaro.

Fraser McConnell has become the first driver to be confirmed for the upcoming Nitrocross season. The Jamaican will once again drive for Dreyer & Reinbold in the series’ premier Group E category, having raced for the team last season, when the championship was known as Nitro Rallycross.

Extreme E founder and CEO Alejandro Agag has left the door open for the series to allow technical development from teams, but has reiterated his desire to focus on providing a platform for hydrogen technology in the future instead.

Extreme E’s fourth event of the season will no longer take place in the Amazon or the United States, the electric off-road series’ founder and CEO Alejandor Agag has confirmed. The September 16-17 double header had been penciled in for one of the two locations.

Veloce Racing won their second race of the Extreme E season at the Hydro X Prix in Scotland to return to the top of the standings.
