We sat down for a three-hour webinar organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines on June 30. It was entitled “Rediscover the Korean Creative Industry: A webinar on K-Drama Scriptwriting and Marketing.”

Park Ji-Hyun is an award-winning scriptwriter and lecturer at Broadcasting Writers Education Center of the Korea TV and Radio Writers Association. Even if she won in a national competition, she waited for years to make her screenwriting debut. “It took me five years to finish my studies and try to make my debut in the industry,” the All About Eve writer recalls. “These days I think it takes seven to eight years for the newbies to debut in the industry.”

Speaking of ‘New Year Blues’, Yoo In Na mentioned that this new year, she is going to try minimalist living and reduce clutter in her home. Yoo In Na plays Hyo Young in New Year Blues alongside Kim Kang Woo and the film explores relationships of 4 central couples who navigate their love lives with respect to the new year’s time.

“New Year Blues” is a star-studded romantic comedy about four couples who must each overcome different fears and problems as they face the beginning of a new year.
On January 21, the upcoming movie released four colorful posters that when joined together spell out the phrase “Happy New Year.” Each of the posters features one of the film’s main couples smiling hopefully up at the sky, wishing for a new year that’s happier than the last.
Kim Kang Woo will star as Ji Ho, a brusque detective with a hidden caring side, while Yoo In Na will play Hyo Young, a seemingly aloof but soft-hearted rehabilitation trainer. The two characters, who are both afraid of finding new love due to their past experiences, meet when Hyo Young requests protection in order to safely wrap up her divorce.
