Xiaomi's upcoming affordable premium smartphone Mi 11 Lite will be the slimmest and lightest smartphone to launch in India in 2021. It will also be one of the slimmest to have launched in recent years. India Today Tech can confirm that the Indian variant of Mi 11 Lite will be just 6.8mm thick, making it slimmer than the Vivo X60 (7.3mm) and OnePlus 9R (8.4mm). In terms of thickness, Xiaomi has also managed to beat the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 (6.9mm) and iPhone 12 (7.4mm).

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Mi 11 Lite will be launched in India on June 22. The smartphone maker has confirmed the India launch of the phone through social media posts. India Today Tech was first to report that Xiaomi is planning to launch the Mi 11 Lite in India in June and will only bring its 4G variant to the country. The Mi 11 Lite India launch will take place on the mentioned date at 12 noon. It will only be an online launch event, keeping up with the current times.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite: Expected price
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite has already launched in multiple countries including China, where it starts at Yuan 2,299 (approximately Rs 26,238) for the 8GB RAM/128GB storage variant. The 8GB RAM/256GB storage variant is priced at Yuan 2,599 (approximately Rs 29,662). It is being reported that the device will be made available under Rs 25,000.
The device is available in six colour options in China: Black, Pink, Blue, Green, Yellow and White.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite: Specifications
Mi 11 Lite sports a 6.55-inch full HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10 support and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G SoC paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage.
Xiaomi is expected to launch the 4G only version of the Mi 11 Lite in India instead of the 5G variant. The phone could sit alongside the Mi 10i 5G in India.

Xiaomi is planning to expand the already impressive Mi 11 line-up in India by adding the Mi 11 Lite to it. The smartphone maker is yet to make an official announcement on the same but one of its executives Sumit Sonal's recent cryptic tweet suggests the new phone is not far from its launch. The Xiaomi executive tweeted 'Lite and Loaded' which is most likely a reference to the Mi 11 Lite which was launched in China earlier this year and is expected to arrive in India soon.

The Mi 11 Lite was launched a few months ago alongside the Mi 11 and Mi 11 Ultra flagships as a more affordable alternative for the masses. The phone comes in both 4G and 5G variants, of which the latter might be relevant to India at the moment. This could be Xiaomi’s opportunity to take on Vivo and Oppo who have dominated the sub-Rs 30,000 segment for years.
