Big Daddy Karsten (aka Karsten Dahl Marcussen) is a rapper who has performed both with the duo Folkefiender and as a solo artist. He has played many festivals in Norway and has been a headliner at various Pride celebrations. Big Daddy Karsten is Norway’s only openly gay rapper. Of his participation, he says, “This feels good. I did not think I was going to do this, because it is not natural for rappers to be part of MGP.”

Norway s Melodi Grand Prix - Semi-Final 3 artists and songs revealed
The Norwegian national final Melodi Grand Prix continues this weekend, with the third heat of five set to take place on Saturday (Sunday morning Australian time).
Norway s state broadcaster, NRK, has released the list of artists and titles behind the songs competing in this weekend s third heat, and the songs have also been released on Spotify. Check them out below:
Dinaye - Own Yourself

17-year-old Dinaye is no stranger to Melodi Grand Prix, having reach the final of the junior version (MGPjr) in 2016. She previously competed as a dancer on Norway s Got Talent, and in 2020 competed on the Norwegian version of the Idol franchise. Own Yourself is co-written by Dinaye and features lines in Amharic, reflecting her Ethiopian heritage.

Melodi Grand Prix 2021 semi-finals, two acts have earned a place in the grand final and three automatic finalists have performed their songs. Now broadcaster NRK has revealed the next four acts who will face the vote in Saturday’s
third semi-final of MGP 2021. The competing acts are Ole Hartz, Dinaye, Emmy and Big Daddy Karsten.

Ole Hatz has been keenly involved with music since he was six years old. He has slowly built up his career and has enjoyed millions of streams and a growing fanbase in both Norway and Sweden. Most recently he had a Yuletide hit “Jeg vil ha ribbe” with TikTok star Ida Celine.
