Maize, Zambia s staple food, was traditionally planted during the rainy season, that is from around October to January, and harvested in June. Today, one is able to enjoy a fresh maize cob any day of the year because of advancements in farming technologies such as irrigation systems and the introduction of early maturing seed varieties.
