Record would be amazing. dana: it is interesting with the biden campaign they didn t think president trump would be on the scene and trounce anybody on the issue of abortion. but the obama team they ve picked up on this and they re worried and what they said to politico. this is the real reason for the obama camp divide with biden. even as the biden campaign takes step to build out its team there remains anxiety amongst democrats. the president has never had to run a ground game of this magnitude. i read that article. before christmas obama was in the white house having lunch with joe biden and was trying to lay out for him what he did in 2012. that s his reelect year. they feel he has no organization here. i don t think they understand the magnitude of what they did to iowa and new hampshire to bypass them and go straight to
Tactical wear. they asked me to step out. they reach my gravel driveway. i said, i think you guys have the wrong person. i told him, you re under arrest for the murders of linda watson, raleigh cox and marilyn. now. i told you before. and into this. you know, i told him, i didn t do this stuff. i m innocent. i told you. i said, you guys never think about me. you guys can check me out. you asked me questions. because it didn t think. i don t believe tampa. i m always here. i ve nothing to hide. linda watson s friend saw the news on tv. we arrested david dwayne watson for three counts of first degree murder. all the sudden, i just can t breathe. i said, oh my gosh, this is it. i started trying to call her aunt, patty. she said, this is it. i was like, are you sure? we sure? i just remember screaming and crying. she said, they just arrested
Reasons i hope we can solve this quickly. reasons i hope we can solve this quickly- this quickly. what did your friends tell this quickly. what did your friends tell you this quickly. what did your friends tell you about - this quickly. what did your friends tell you about this | friends tell you about this expedition, where they were ready to talk about the risks? i have had several good friends that have gone out and said it was perfectly safe and they wouldn t have gotten bored if they didn t think was safe, they didn t think was safe, they are extremely accomplished people. a french oceanographer who was my closest friend and colleague is out there and he insisted that it was perfectly safe, and you can trust ph, if there was a problem he would have brought out out. it s a remarkable person, the kind of person you would want if you re in a difficult position, he is the one i would want with me. so nothing negative at all, i know they had some issues in the beginning, which is
Keeping progressives informed and in the loop and that being pragmatic is what you need. he s missing from this equation so we ll see how the left fares on this. but some of them actually believe what the president was saying and the white house was saying that we re not going to negotiate on this. the reality is that was never going to work. they have negotiated debt ceilings in the past. the president obviously knew that. i mean he was definitely trying to negotiate as he was saying we re not going to negotiate. right. he thought that republicans would fracture. that s what they thought all along, that republicans would not stay together. they did stay together up until now. we ll see if they do over the next week or so. look, i find it hard to believe that the left would not be there for them. he s their president and facing a re-election. it s really hard for me to imagine that only more than a handful would support it. exactly. and to the point of miscalculating on what
It. that s very interesting because it. that s very interesting because for it. that s very interesting because for most - it. that s very interesting because for most young | it. that s very interesting - because for most young actors and you had been to akron three and you had been to akron three and then you raada. and then you went to the royal shakespeare company, you sort of way from shakespeare. i just of way from shakespeare. i ust think at that fl of way from shakespeare. i ust think at that time, i of way from shakespeare. i ust think at that time, being i of way from shakespeare. i “lat think at that time, being from a kind of working class back round, i djust a kind of working class back round, i d just didn t think, and the way i spoke and the way i was, that i was there fodder at that time, so it be working my way up in a very incremental sort of way rather than landing a fabulous part very early on. so a kind of thought actually it s not going to serve me ri
Earlier, we showed you reaction from republican senator, the former president s comments from the town hall. those who talked with us were we re going to get reaction. we re joined by amy klobuchar from minnesota. we re author of a brand-new memoir released this week, the joy of politics: surviving cancer, campaign, pandemic, insurrection and life s other unexpected curveballs. senator, it s good to have you on the program. congratulations on the book. thanks. you write in the book a lot about the events of january 6th. i m wondering what your reaction was to the former president was last night saying he didn t think vice president pence wasn t in any danger and he was inclined to pardon those for their roles in the january 6th insurrection, even looking into the so-called proud boys? i think anyone that questioned if he had somehow changed got their answer last
Thank you for having me back on. i thought it was hilarious. the great jokes. it also shows that he has a real sense of humor. he s quick on his feet. also, as a personal note, i will say that having worked closely with the president during his first election in 2020 i have seen him up close. he works hard, he is up earlier than his staff. he is always on the run. he s a very hard campaigner. it is exhausting to be around him. on a personal level i m not too worried about that. he won that election with more votes than anyone has ever got. folks in 2020 didn t think, oh, he s a millennial. they knew how old he was. what has he done since becoming president? he has done more than, basically, any president in modern american history. i think that he has a lot to show. i thought the strategy last night, to poke fun at himself, was a good one. jen psaki here has essentially said, i will read the quote here, it is more about the issues and not necessarily about the age. donald trump s fou
President. it s never happened. there are a lot of things unique about this case and there are scholars, experienced lawyers, there are those who, you know, scholars that say, what actually is happening here is not going to be on strong legal footing. they are warning bragg whether they are to the left, right, or center, you re taking a chance. do you take this chance, get the indictment, you proceed, and if you don t get a conviction then president trump is again able to point to you used this really novel theory that even the left didn t think was going to work so this proves it was nothing but political. so there has been caution, and strong public growing opposition from legal experts and scholars on the left who say, the way he s trying to put together this case is very unlikely to succeed but you ve got to convince a jury, made up of new yorkers, we ll see what they think. he s the first president in the united states history sitting or former, to face criminal charges, shannon
Federal crime that the federal government didn t think warranted a prosecution. john: does it seem odd to you that here you have a d.a. trying to bootstrap this case from a misdemeanor to a felony and relying as his star witness a guy for whom the truth seems to be a fluid thing. you are bringing a case against a former president. yeah. that was the selling point of michael cohen was his ethical flexibility. he would do things others would not do. and that s hardly someone you want to put on the stand. for bragg, he is about to set history in indicting the first former president in history. i don t believe history will be kind to him. i believe that this will invite infamy for bragg. i believe this case will ultimately be shown to be dramatically flawed both a legal and factual basis.
Crime that the department of justice didn t think warranted a charge. that s something that none of us have really seen before. so, he is taking this bizarre case, with all these conflicts into what is an historic moment. and i don t think history will be very kind to him. trump is said to be facing the possible charges of fossa phiing business records for labeling a $13 $130,000 hush moy payment to film actress stormy daniels. the charge could be elevated to a felony if trump is found to have falsified records with the intent to conceal violation of state campaign finance law. bragg has been under intense political pressure from both sides of the aisle to drop this case. republicans have called this a politically motivated witch-hunt and are demanding that bragg testify to congress about the possible indictment. some democrats have expressed concern that this particular case isn t strong enough.
