Igor Lebedev has reacted to the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) not to recognize the election of
Viktar Lukashenka as head of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus.
On February 26, Aliaksandr Lukashenka s son was elected as head of the NOC by the Olympic meeting. He replaced his father, who had been head of the committee since 1997. Nevertheless, the IOC decided not to continue inviting and granting accreditation to Belarusian state officials, including Aliaksandr and Viktar Lukashenka, to attend the Olympics. Why do you think we care that the IOC does not recognize Lukashenka? Is Lukashenka a Russian citizen? No. I. don t care, excuse my rudeness, whether the IOC recognizes him or not.
