According to Head of the Belarus President Administration Igor Sergeyenko, the work on the updated version of the Basic Law of the country was quite intense.

Chief of the presidential administration Igor Sergeyenko said that the change of the name and competences of the Central Election Commission is among the novelties

"I believe that we have found a certain balance. This is another step towards the development of people's power in our country," Igor Sergeyenko noted.

“These norms were a response to the social request to consolidate our national and state identity. After all, a state can be truly independent only with a strong nation,” Igor Sergeyenko stressed.

"What do we see today at the border? On one side of it are unarmed people, on the other - the armed forces who use special means: tear gas, water cannons and other means,” Igor Sergeyenko said

The work on the Belarus Constitution draft is nearing completion. The points of controversy were discussed on 4 November at another meeting of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko with members of the working group to finalize the Constitution draft, BelTA informs.
